Scope and Content

The records relate to the inquiry work of the Select Committee on the handling of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak by the Government and the Hospital Authority. They include setting up the Select Committee, meeting arrangements, agenda and minutes, correspondence with the Government and the Hospital Authority, submissions, evidence and information provided to the Select Committee by the Government, the Hospital Authority and other parties and individuals, transcriptions, preparation and drafting of the Select Committee's Report.
Among the types of documents contained in the records are memoranda, letters, agenda and minutes of meetings, verbatim transcripts and press cuttings.
The sound recordings of the Select Committee's closed meetings held between 5 November 2003 and 5 July 2004 are also included.

Records are maintained on hard cover manila folders and lever arch files. Enclosures inside manila folders are attached using Treasury tags.
