Scope and Content

The records in this series relate to the organization and work of the Panels established by OMLEGCO (Office of Members of the Legislative Council) and subsequently by the Legislative Council relating to information technology, telecommunications, broadcasting, film services and creative industry.
The series documents regular and special Panel meetings, joint meetings with other Panels, official visits by Panel members and representations.
Among the subjects covered by this record series are relocation of the Public Records Office of Hong Kong, information privacy, reorganization of the Information Co-ordinator’s Office and the Information Services Department, regulation of obscene and indecent materials, fixed telecoms network services, Cyberport project, electronic records and digital signatures, third generation mobile services, electronic government strategy, the ‘digital divide’ in the community and Putonghua broadcasting.
The contents of files include letters, information papers, speeches, reports, briefing papers, publications, agenda, minutes, photographs and press cuttings.
